There are many flaws in the new portal of Income Tax, today there will be an important meeting of the Finance Ministry, Infosys officials will be involved

New Income Tax e-filing Portal Metting: The new Income Tax e-filing portal was launched on 7th June, since then it is facing many technical difficulties. Finance Ministry officials are going to hold a meeting with Infosys representatives on this matter today. This meeting will be held today from 11 am to 1 pm. 

Finance Minister’s meeting with Infosys

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Revenue Secretary, CBDT Chairman, and top Finance Ministry officials will attend this meeting. Apart from this, the auditors of ICAI, advisors of taxpayers will also participate in this meeting today. The CBDT had earlier informed that during this meeting, the Infosys team will answer questions, clarify the matter and get inputs on the portal. Both the Finance Ministry and the Income Tax Department have said that our aim is to make compliance on the new portal more taxpayer-friendly. 

Problem in payment under Vishwas scheme from a dispute

The new e-filing portal of Income Tax www.incometax.gov.in has more than 1 problem which needs to be rectified. There is a problem with a login on the portal, there is also a complaint of delay in payment of trust due to dispute, Narayan Jain, chairman of the representation committee of DPTA, said that there is no option of payment under the Vivid Se Vishwas scheme on the new portal. Due to which the TDS / TCS statement is not being filed. The DPTA has also appealed to the Finance Minister to extend the last date for payment of tax under the Vivid Se Vishwas scheme by two months and also till June 30, the date of submission of outstanding TDS/TCS statements and compliance of other formalities.

There are many more problems

Apart from this, there are many problems with the new portal. Such as the inability to file an income tax return and PAN not being shown to be valid. PAN data is showing mismatch, while technically there is no mismatch and no. Not able to file ITR for FY 2020-21. Previous filings are not available on the portal, pending demand is also not visible, new companies are not able to register themselves. Digital Signature Certificate is not registering or updating. 

Apart from this, there are many problems which are present on the portal, which is very important to be fixed, because the deadline of many is ending on June 30.
