The Subject Expert Committee has really recommended that Covishield and Covaxin be sold on the open market. The Central Drugs Standard Control Organization’s Subject Expert Committee has recommended that DCGI distribute Corona Vaccine Covishield and Covaxin on the open market.

By submitting an application to CDSCO, Serum Institute of India and Bharat Biotech sought approval to sell their vaccine on the open market, after which the CDSCO Subject Expert Committee requested more papers from both pharma companies. Following receipt of the materials, the Subject Expert Committee recommended that these vaccinations be sold on the open market, although with some restrictions.

There are several restrictions with CDSCO.

According to CDSCO sources, the Subject Expert Committee has imposed limits on Covishield and Covaxin while recommending regular market permission. These criteria stipulate that these vaccines will only be accessible in CoWin-registered clinics and hospitals. The second criterion was that at the moment of immunisation, the clinic or hospital must transmit all pertinent information to the CoWin site. At the same time, chemists affiliated with clinics or hospitals can sell these vaccinations if the administration time is specified in CoWin. The Subject Expert Committee’s decision has yet to be ratified by DCGI. DCGI will make the final decision.
