Due to Republic Day security precautions, DMRC has closed the entry or exit gates at Patel Chowk and Lok Kalyan Marg metro stations from 8.45 a.m. to 12 p.m. on January 25-26.
On the 26th of January, the country will commemorate Republic Day. Similarly, on the occasion of Republic Day in the capital of Delhi, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has decided to change services at key metro stations on Wednesday due to security concerns. Because of the Republic Day celebrations on the Yellow Line, travellers will not be able to access or exit the Central Secretariat and Udyog Bhawan Metro Stations from the morning until 12 pm (HUDA City Center-Samaypur Badli). However, travellers of the Yellow Line and Violet Line will be able to interchange here.
On January 26, services on Delhi Metro Line-2 (HUDA City Center – Samaypur Badli) will be partially affected. The Central Secretariat’s entry and exit gates, as well as the Udyog Bhawan metro station, will be blocked till 12 p.m. The Central Secretariat Metro station, on the other hand, will be used for interchange. Apart from that, from 6 a.m. on January 25 to 2 p.m. on January 26, all Delhi Metro parking lots will be closed.
Under the security arrangements, DMRC made the choice.
From 8.45 a.m. to 12 p.m., entry or departure gates at Patel Chowk and Lok Kalyan Marg metro stations will be closed. In this case, all metro parking will be closed from 6 a.m. on Tuesday to 2 p.m. on Wednesday (January 26). Currently, DMRC has made this choice as part of the Republic Day parade security measures.
After the Beating Retreat ceremony, the metro will resume normal service.
Please be advised that from 2 PM to 6.30 PM on Saturday, January 29th (Beating Retreat Ceremony), Metro services will be unavailable at Central Secretariat and Udyog Bhawan Metro Stations (HUDA City Center – Samaypur Badli). Yellow Line and Violet (Kashmere Gate to Raja Nahar Singh) passengers will be able to interchange at Central Secretariat Metro Station during this time. However, at 6.30 p.m., these stations’ services will return to normal.
Before Republic Day, about 27,000 soldiers were stationed in Delhi.

There are 71 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs), 213 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs), 713 Police Inspectors, Delhi Police Commandos, Armed Battalion Officers, Jawans, and 65 Central Armed Police Forces companies. 16 marching contingents, 17 military bands, and 25 tableaux from various states, departments, and armed forces will be on exhibit at the 73rd Republic Day celebrations.
