MG ZS EV Facelift Revealed Ahead of Launch: Expected Specifications, Features

MG Motors has released some pictures of the upcoming facelifted MG ZS EV ahead of its launch. The upcoming facelift will bring the MG ZS EV in line with the UK version of the MG ZS EV and its ICE sibling, the MG Astor. The MG ZS EV will come with a more modern exterior design and interiors. The list of features offered will get a boost with the inclusion of a large touchscreen display, AI assistant, 360-degree camera with ADAS and more. The MG ZS EV will also see mechanical upgrades in the form of a bigger battery pack.

MG ZS EV official preview released

MG Motors recently launched the ICE sibling of MG ZS EV in the Indian market as MG Astor. MG Astor was launched in the Indian market in its facelifted form like in the international markets from the very beginning. So it was a matter of time, the MG ZS EV would eventually be updated to bring both the cars in line with the difference in the drive train and some consequent other features. These images also coincide with spy shots of the upcoming car taken on public roads, which were recently reported by 91Wheels.

The upcoming MG ZS EV has now been officially reviewed by the company and it matches up quite well as expected. The styling of the MG ZS EV is similar to that of the international car, with crisper and tidier lines thanks to the updated front and rear bumpers that accentuate the fascia. The lighting system on both the front and rear has been revamped with new design elements and looks sufficiently more modern. The bizarre charging port below the MG logo has made way for a side opening that looks odd.

In terms of features, staying true to MG’s India quest, the ZS EV is already loaded with features that include a panoramic sunroof, powered driver’s seat, automatic headlights, and wipers, connected car features, six airbags, hill start Huh. / descent control, all four disc brake set up, tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and electronic stability control (ESP).

Now, the 2022 MG ZS EV facelift will bring forward new technology from the MG Astor as it is expected to feature automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control, lane assisted ADAS. Keep assist and automatic emergency braking. This feature will set it apart from existing rivals like the Hyundai Kona and Tata Nexon EV. A larger 10.1-inch touchscreen, 7-inch MID, new climate control design, wireless charging, and AI assistant will also be part of the package.

The MG ZS EV is also expected to have a bigger battery pack which should be able to boost the car’s current single-charge range of 419km. The new 51kWh battery pack is expected to lend the car a claimed range of 600+km. The current model of MG ZS EV sells for Rs 21.49 lakh to Rs 25.18 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and the upcoming model will be near the same price range. However, one can expect to pay extra for the ADAS-equipped variants. The 2022 MG ZS EV sees direct competition from the Hyundai Kona EV along with indirect competition from the segment below the Tata Nexon EV. It is interesting to note that both the Nexon EV and Kona EV are due for a facelift this year.
