Reliance Jio, Airtel, and Vodafone Idea had given a big blow to their users by the year 2021. All these three private telecom companies had made the tariff plans expensive by increasing their Mobile Recharge Plans price. After increasing the prices of recharge plans, now mobile users have to pay extra money for the same benefits. But this scourge of inflation is not going to stop here. Gopal Vittal, CEO of Bharti Airtel, the country’s second-largest telecommunications company, has said in clear words that the price of mobile recharge will increase again this year in 2022 as well.
Gopal Vittal, Chief Executive Officer of Bharti Airtel has said in his statement that the year 2022 may also see an increase in telecom tariffs. Vittal says that after the increase in the prices of mobile recharge plans last year, telcos may again make their plans expensive this year. Along with this statement, the Airtel CEO has even said that if needed, his company will also lead it, that is, without waiting for Reliance Jio and Vi, Airtel can increase the prices of its tariff plans.
Prices may increase after July
According to Gopal Vittal, telecom tariffs will be expensive again but this will happen only after the next 3-4 months. The prices of mobile plans can be increased during the second half of the year i.e. the month of July. Arguing on the price hike statement, the Airtel CEO has said that at present the data rate in India is the lowest in the world and the prices of telecom tariffs in foreign countries are much higher than in India. According to Gopal, this increase will be decided to keep in mind the rival companies.
A company trying to increase profits
Airtel CEO has clearly said that the company is trying to increase it’s ARPU i.e. Average Revenue Per User. According to Vittal, the company’s ARPU will soon reach Rs 200 and then the company will try to take it to 300 in the coming time. To explain here to the readers in simple words, how much money a customer spends on average on his recharge etc., and mobile usage, that amount is called ARPU. That is, it can be said about Airtel that the company wants the number of its customers to be reduced, but whoever is its user, he should spend more and more money on recharge, etc.
