The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday said that the monsoon is progressing at a normal pace and is likely to reach Maharashtra in the next two days. IMD scientist R. O. Jenamani said that between May 31 and June 7, the monsoon had reached south and the central Arabian Sea, entire Kerala, parts of Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu.
Monsoon has arrived in Northeast India
He told that the monsoon has reached the whole of Northeast India and there has been good rain during this period. Jenamani said there is no delay in the monsoon. It is likely to reach Maharashtra in the next two days and the monsoon will cover the entire Mumbai in the next two days. He said that strong winds are blowing and clouds will start forming in the next two days. Jenamani said conditions are favorable for further advance of the Monsoon into Goa and parts of Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu in the next two days.
