By the end of this year, the Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) will be deployed across the country. Along with this, hospitals will be opened in many states of the country. It has been said to establish 23 new hospitals with 100 beds across the country.
The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) has resolved that by the end of 2022, its health insurance program will be implemented throughout the country. Employees State Insurance (ESIC) is currently fully established in 443 districts and partially implemented in 153 others. There are still 148 districts that are not covered by this insurance plan. In the 188th meeting of ESIC under the chairmanship of Labor and Employment Minister Bhupendra Yadav, many important decisions were taken for the expansion of the medical care and service delivery system across the country.

By the end of the year, the partially covered and uncovered districts would be fully covered under the ESIC plan, according to the statement. Health facility services will be made available by setting up a new dispensary cum branch office (DCBO). Apart from this, ESIC has also decided to open 23 new hospitals with 100 beds across the country.
Hospitals will open in these states
Of these, six hospitals will be set up in Palghar, Satara, Pen, Jalgaon, Chakan, and Panvel in Maharashtra. Four hospitals will be opened in Haryana at Hisar, Sonipat, Ambala, and Rohtak. In Tamil Nadu (Chengalpattu and Erode), Uttar Pradesh (Moradabad and Gorakhpur), and Karnataka, two hospitals will be built (Tumkur and Udupi).
Nellore in Andhra Pradesh, Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh, Mulgaon in Goa, Sanand in Gujarat, Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh, Jharsuguda in Odisha, and Kharagpur in West Bengal will all receive one ESIC hospital.
Infrastructure is being done best
Apart from these hospitals, dispensaries will also be opened at different places. Maharashtra will have 48 dispensaries, Delhi will have 12, and Haryana will have two. Better quality health services will be provided to the insured employees and their dependents through dispensaries.
In order to provide the best medical care, ESIC is working on setting up of new hospitals and improving the infrastructure of existing hospitals.

Among the other major choices made at the meeting was to improve medical care services for covered workers and their families. ESIC has chosen to take administrative control of the State Government-run ESIC Hospital at Sonagiri, Bhopal.
Necessary professionals will now be appointed to bridge the gap of non-availability of specialists and super-specialist in ESIC hospitals run by the state government.
