Tata Motors (Tata Motors) has announced a collaboration with EC Wheels India (EC Wheels India), a Steelman Group subsidiary and app-based cab service provider in Kolkata. As part of the agreement, Tata Motors will deliver 1,000 XPRES T electric sedans to the company. According to Tata Motors, this is the largest EV fleet ever deployed in the country’s eastern region. The agreement comes just days after Tata Motors partnered with BlueSmart Electric Mobility to deliver 10,000 XPRES T electric sedans, the country’s largest EV fleet to date.
According to Tata Motors, deliveries of the XPRES T electric sedan to EC Wheels will begin soon and be completed in stages. “Tata Motors has always been focused on the rapid adoption of EVs in the mobility space, thereby helping to grow India’s e-mobility market,” said Ramesh Dorairajan, Senior General Manager, Network Management and EV Sales, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles. Tata Motors currently holds a market share of more than 80% in India’s electric passenger vehicle segment. In the commercial space, Tata Motors claims a 90% market share in India’s EV fleet segment. “The X-PRES T EV has set a new benchmark because it delivers a dynamic performance at an affordable price, as well as advanced safety, fast charging, and premium interior themes,” Dorairajan said. Battery life and range
Tata Motors introduced the XPRES brand last July with the XPRES-T electric sedan. It has two range options, both ARAI-certified, offering 213 km and 165 km on a single full charge. The battery packs in the electric sedan are 21.5 kWh and 16.5 kWh, respectively, and can be charged from 0 to 80 percent in 90 minutes and 110 minutes using fast charging. It can also be charged using a 15A plug.
Security Features
In terms of safety, the Tata XPRES-T comes standard with dual airbags, ABS, and EBD. The interiors are entirely black, with blue accents on the inside and outside.
