It was told in the media report on Wednesday that the company’s spokesperson Ajay Singh is looking for a buyer to sell his 24 percent stake. SpiceJet has also started talks about this.

According to media reports, SpiceJet is in talks with a major Middle East airline for this. The company has shown interest in buying a 24 percent stake in SpiceJet. If it is approved by SpiceJet, then this company will get a chance to join SpiceJet’s board as well. However, apart from this, another big Indian company is also preparing to join hands with SpiceJet.
The Indian company has also approached SpiceJet promoter, Ajay Singh. Ajay Singh currently holds a 60 percent stake in SpiceJet. After this, the company is in talks with several investors regarding financial partnership and information will be given when a decision is taken. Not only this, all regulatory guidelines will be followed for this deal.
Company clears dues of AAI
SpiceJet had said a day earlier that the company has cleared the entire dues of the Airport Authority of India (AAI). In fact, SpiceJet has been running in losses continuously for the last four years. The company has incurred a loss of Rs 316 crore in 18-19, Rs 934 crore in 19-20, and Rs 998 crore in 20-21. Actually, the company suffered losses due to the Corona epidemic. After this, the DGCA directed the company to fly only 50 percent of the aircraft in the month of July due to technical faults.
