Tata Altroz CNG Spied: The price difference between CNG and petrol/diesel has narrowed in recent times but in spite of this CNG is still cheaper. Also, CNG vehicles have higher mileage than their petrol or diesel-powered versions. Hence the market for CNG cars is growing. With Tiago and Tigor, Tata Motors has already made a presence in this market. Now it is going to expand its CNG portfolio. The company is going to launch the CNG version of Altroz soon. Along with this, the CNG version of Nexon will be brought. Test mules of both have been seen. Now the Tata Altroz CNG has been seen once again. It may cost anywhere from Rs 7.50 lakh to Rs 9 lakh.
The CNG kit used in the Altroz is likely to be similar to that of the Nexon. Both the cars have similar engine options. There are two of these: a 1.5-liter turbo diesel engine and a 1.2-liter turbo petrol engine. However, both cars have different power and torque outputs. Apart from this, the premium hatchback Altroz also gets the option of 1.2-litre NA petrol engines like the Tiago and Tigor. On the Nexon and Altroz, the 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine may be paired with the CNG kit. Altroz can be launched this year.

The 1.2-liter turbo petrol engine of the Altroz generates 110 PS of maximum power and 140 Nm of peak torque. A 6-speed DCA transmission and a 5-speed manual transmission are available as options. At the same time, this engine in Nexon produces 120 PS and 170 Nm. Both a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission are available. The CNG variants of the Altroz and Nexon can be offered in manual transmission.
