Veteran car manufacturer Hyundai had recently informed that the company is working on a new micro-SUV. This small SUV will directly compete with cars like Citroën C3 and Tata Punch in India. It is expected to be replaced by the Grand i10 Nios.
The new B1 segment compact SUV will be offered multiple powertrain options and is likely to be launched in late 2023 or the first half of 2024.
Hyundai Ai3 CUV
Internally coded as the Hyundai Ai3 CUV, the new Hyundai mini-SUV in India will be based on the same platform that underpins the Nios and Aura in the Indian market. Similar to the Grand i10 Nios, it will provide the same engine choices. These include the 1.2L NA and 1.0L turbo petrol engines. Additionally, the Korean automaker may provide a CNG powertrain option with some versions.
Safety Features
Talking about safety, it is likely to be given dual airbags, ABS, EBS, seat belt reminders, and reverse parking sensors. The base variant of the new Hyundai Ai3 mini-SUV is anticipated to cost between Rs. 6-7 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The new Hyundai Ai3 CUV will be offered with a larger infotainment system, wireless charging, semi-digital instrument console, automatic climate control, push-button start, Hyundai BlueLink, cooled storage console, electrically operated ORVMs. is likely to be done. Once launched, it will challenge the likes of Maruti Ignis, Tata Punch, Citroen C3, and some variants of Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger in the market.
