But this rule applies when your train is running late.
Facility for the passengers of express train
According to railway rules, passengers are provided breakfast and light food under the catering policy of IRCTC if the train is late beyond the scheduled time. According to the rule, passengers get this facility when your train is running late by 2 hours or more. This facility is for the passengers of express trains. This means that if you are traveling in an express train like Shatabdi, Rajdhani, and Duronto and it is delayed by two hours or more, IRCTC will provide you breakfast and food.
You get tea coffee and biscuits in the breakfast available on the train. In the evening snack, there is a provision of giving four bread slices (brown/white), one butter chiplet along with tea or coffee. Roti, dal, and vegetables are available free of cost at lunchtime. Sometimes dal-rice or whole vegetables are also mixed in it. If the train is late by two hours or more, you can order food as per the rules.
