Tata Cars Sales in 2022: 2022 has certainly been a great year for Tata Motors as it has managed to sell over five lakh passenger vehicles. This is the highest ever sales since the company started its operations in India in the year 1998. The domestic carmaker projects sales of 3.31 lakh units in 2021, while 2022 saw 59 percent more sales (5,26,798 units).
Tata’s best-selling car has been Nexon, followed by Punch, Tiago, Electric model, and CNG models also sold well in 2022. The carmaker registered better sales growth than the country’s largest passenger vehicle makers – Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai Motor India. On an annual basis, Maruti’s sales increased by about 16 percent, and Hyundai’s sales by 9.4 percent.
Speaking to a media publication, Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director (Passenger Vehicles & Electric Vehicles), at Tata Motors said that the company aims to achieve double-digit sales growth this year. The launch of new cars, internal combustion engine (ICE) models, and better demand for electric vehicles and CNG trims are expected to drive good sales this year, he said.
Let us tell you that last year Tata Motors sold around 43,000 units of electric vehicles (including Nexon EV Prime, Nexon EV Max, and Tigor EV). Now this year, Tata will further expand its EV product portfolio with the launch of its Punch EV and Tiago EV Blitz. The company is also preparing to bring the electric version of Altroz.
Tata Motors has plans to launch several new models in the next 2-3 years. This year the company will also introduce CNG versions of its two very popular models Punch and Altroz. Both vehicles have also been showcased at the Auto Expo 2023. Along with the Tata Tiago EV Blitz Edition, the new Harrier and Safari Red Black Edition could also go on sale in 2023.
