In recent years, Multi-Purpose Vehicles (MPV) have become more in demand in India. In the MPV market, the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga sold the most units in February. Apart from this, the Kia Carens, Toyota Innova Highcross, Renault Triber, and Maruti Suzuki XL6 have been the best-selling in the top-5 vehicles. In comparison to the Ertiga and Triber, the Kia Carens, Toyota Innova Highcross, and Maruti Suzuki XL6 might be considered premium MPVs. The Maruti Suzuki XL6 and the Kia Carens are the three MPVs’ closest competitors. Let’s now examine their sales data.
The NEXA premium dealership network currently exclusively
sells the Maruti Suzuki XL6 as an MPV. It has a 6-seat configuration. In February 2023, the business sold 2,108 units of the XL6 MPV, down from 2,582 units in the same month in the previous year. This means that its sales have decreased by 18.36%. In February 2023, it is ranked as one of the best-selling in the top-5 MPV.
In the market, the Kia Carens, which competes with the Maruti Suzuki XL6,
has been the second best-selling MPV. It is available with 6 or 7 seats. Kia Caren’s sales in February 2023 were 6,248 vehicles, well exceeding those of the Maruti Suzuki XL6. In this circumstance, it is safe to say that the Kia Carens have gained more traction with the public than the Maruti Suzuki XL6.
In terms of cost, the Kia Carens has priced between Rs. 10.45 lakh and Rs. 18.95 lakh (ex-showroom, pan India). XL6 has priced between Rs. 11.41 lakh to Rs. 14.67 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
