In addition to this, today is a holiday for all government offices. The RBI’s calendar for April 4th includes a holiday in honor of Mahavir Jayanti.
Two days off during this week
Regarding the stock market, the month of April has three holidays, and the present week has two. The stock market will be closed on April 4 in observance of Mahavir Jayanti, April 7 for Good Friday, and April 14 for the birth anniversary of Babasaheb Ambedkar. On April 4, the Multi Commodities Exchange’s (MCX) morning session will also be closed, along with the stock market. From 5 p.m. to 11.30 p.m., the evening session will be open.

On the occasion of Mahavir Jayanti, there are bank holidays in several places across the nation, according to the RBI calendar. Aizawl, Belapur, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Chennai, Kanpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Raipur, and Ranchi are among the cities that have closed their banks on this day. Banking tasks here will now be completed on April 5, the next business day. There will be a bank holiday on April 5th as well due to Babu Jagjivan Ram Jayanti in Hyderabad. In addition, all government offices are closed today in observance of Mahavir Jayanti.
