In 2022, Mahindra introduced the redesigned Scorpio-N and Scorpio Classic. The response from consumers to the new models has been overwhelmingly positive. The Scorpio-N has a waiting period of roughly 18 months. The new Scorpio (Scorpio-N and Scorpio Classic) defeated every mid-size SUV, including the XUV700, Hector (including the Hector Plus), Harrier, Safari, and Alcazar, in the month of March 2023.
In comparison to the 6,061 units sold in the same month
the previous year, when the Scorpio-N was not for sale, Mahindra sold a total of 8,788 units of the Scorpio-N and Scorpio Classic in March 2023. On a yearly basis, the Scorpio nameplate has increased by 44.99 percent. In this, Scorpio-N plays a significant role. On a month-over-month basis, its sales have also climbed by 26.45 percent.
Scorpio has beaten everyone.
In March 2023, Mahindra XUV700 sold 5,107 units, placing it in second place among similar vehicles. Its sales have decreased by 15.45% (year over year). At the same time, MG Motor India sold 2,019 units of the Hector and Hector Plus in March 2022 compared to 4,105 units in total in March 2023.
Safari and Harrier were also left behind.
In March 2023, Tata Motors sold 1,890 units of Safari and 2,561 units of Harrier. While the Hyundai Alcazar has sold 2,519 units overall in the most recent month (March 2022). In terms of sales, all of them have fallen far short of the Scorpio.
