Electric vehicle demand is rising quickly. In the first quarter of this year (2023), 21,109 electric vehicles were sold. With a market share of over 73% in the electric vehicle industry, Tata Motors now holds the top position. The Tiago EV has ruined the Nexon EV’s reign as the best-selling electric vehicle up until recently.
The Tiago EV, which was introduced last year,
has outsold the Tata Nexon EV in terms of sales. Tata sold 8,358 units of the Tiago EV during the first quarter (Q1, 2023) of this year, while Nexon sold 4,994 units. The Mahindra XUV400, which has sold 2,092 units and is now ranked third in sales, is next.
Tata Tigor (1,996 units), MG ZS (1,533 units),
and Citroen eC3 (1,101 units) came after it. In just three months after beginning deliveries of the Atto 3 electric SUV, BYD sold 864 units.
The Tata Tiago EV has an ex-showroom pricing range of Rs 8.69 lakh to Rs 11.99 lakh.
This electric vehicle has five seats. 19.2 kWh and 24 kWh battery packs are available. With the smaller battery pack, the electric motor produces 61 PS/104 Nm, while the larger battery pack produces 75 PS/114 Nm. The 24 kWh battery pack can provide a range of up to 315 km, while the 19.2 kWh battery pack can provide a range of up to 250 km. It includes features like a 4-speaker Harmon sound system, auto AC, foldable ORVMs, rain-sensing wipers, and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
