Safety in car is a topic that receives a lot of attention today, and various safety features are available. Among these, an airbag is a crucial safety element. In India, all vehicles must have a minimum of two airbags. An automobile manufacturer is free to include more airbags than two, but it is not allowed to have fewer than two airbags. However, there are a lot of considerations that must be made when driving a car with airbags.
Install no bull bars
Hold on if you intend to install a bull bar in your new car. This is owing to the fact that installing a bull bar is currently unlawful and can also prevent the airbags from deploying in the case of an accident by preventing the airbag sensors from receiving information about the accident.
Your feet should not remain on the dashboard.
On lengthy trips, many front-seat passengers rest their feet on the dashboard. This behavior can be exceedingly risky, especially in vehicles with airbags. This is due to the possibility of bone fracture during the explosion needed to fill the airbag.
Never leave items on the dashboard of the car.
Avoid storing anything on the dashboard of a car with an airbag because if the airbag opens, the object will explode and the airbag won’t inflate until that happens. In this scenario, the items on the dashboard may transform into fast-moving projectiles and inflict further lethal wounds on you.
Do not keep the airbag of the car on with the child!
It is always advised to turn off the passenger-side airbag when transporting a child in the front seat. This is due to the fact that the force with which the airbag unfolds may be too much for the child to handle. In rare circumstances, it may also be dangerous.
