The end of May has brought good news for the personnel of the Central Government. The central employees’ DA information will be entirely obvious after a few months have passed. However, it is now known how much of a DA increase the central personnel will receive this time around based on the AICPI index, which was released in April. The AICPI index numbers, which were based in April, have increased significantly. This makes it obvious that the employees’ DA will rise from 42 to 46 percent.
There is a 42 percent DA.
The government currently pays its employees a dearness allowance of 42%. It will rise to 46% following the 4 percent hike. The AICPI index has increased by 0.72 points this time. 52 lakh government employees and 48 lakh pensioners will benefit from the increase in the numbers. The government had already begun to apply for the new dearness allowance on January 1, 2023. Beginning on July 1, the new dearness allowance will be in effect. The administration will make a statement about this in August or September.
Let us inform you that the AICPI index was
the sole factor used to determine how much the dearness allowance for central personnel would increase based on the April figure that was released in May of last year. Every month, the first month’s AICPI data is made public. Last May, the April figure was made public. In comparison to March, the AICPI index for April has grown. It was 133.3 points in March; as of right now, it is 134.02 points higher. This indicates that there will be a significant increase in DA this time as well.
The figure decreased in February.
From January to April of this year, the number decreased in February. It continues to increase steadily throughout the remaining months. The AICPI index was 132.8 points in January 2023. This was followed by a decline to 132.7 points in February. In March, it increased and reached 133.3 points. It has since risen to 134.02 points in April.
The DA has grown past 45 percent
to reach 45.04% based on the AICPI index for April. The AICPI index number for May and June has not yet been released. Given that the DA has now surpassed 45 percent, it seems obvious that it will rise by 4 percent to 46 percent this time as well.
