Today will see the disbursement of the 17th payment of PM Kisan, the Central Government’s most ambitious plan. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has accepted the file to release the installment about PM Kisan, following his third oath of office. On June 18, Prime Minister Modi is making his first trip to Varanasi following his third term as prime minister. On June 18 (Tuesday), during this time, funds will be deposited into farmers’ accounts. PM Modi will also award certificates to over 30,000 women who participate in self-help groups during this time.
Amounts to farmers will total 9.26 crore.
The Prime Minister will address the Kisan Sammelan and release the 17th installment during his one-day visit. Beneath this, Rs 20000 crore will be transferred to the accounts of 9.26 crore farmers. Under the scheme, financial assistance of Rs 6000 is given to farmer families every year. Earlier, money was given to 96005019 farmers as the installment for April-July 2023-24 and to 90750086 farmers as the installment for August-November 2023-24.
PM Kisan Yojana: What is it?
Mantri Pradhan Prime Minister Kisan Nidhi, also known as Kisan Samman Nidhi, is the most ambitious central government program. The government pays for all of its expenses. The program became live on December 1st, 2018. It’s one of the biggest programs in the world that helps farmers directly. This program’s objective is to give farmers financial support so they can continue farming. Eligible land-holding farmer households receive financial support of Rs 6,000 per year through the scheme. Throughout the year, this money is distributed in three installments of Rs 2,000 each.
