It’s a common misperception that UPI (Unified Payment Interface) requires a smartphone and internet connection, but this is entirely untrue. We’ll walk you through the process of making a UPI payment without a smartphone or internet connection today.

Thanks to UPI, transactions are now incredibly simple. To make a payment these days, all you need is a phone—it doesn’t matter if it’s a feature phone. It only takes a few minutes to make a UPI payment, even with a feature phone.

We’ll explain to you today how to use a feature phone to make a UPI payment. Let’s examine its entire procedure.

Step 1 requires you to first press *99# on your phone.

Step 2: From the list of alternatives, choose the name of your bank.

Step 3: Next, input the final six digits found on the ATM or debit card.

Next, input your UPI PIN in step four. Your UPI ID will then be generated.

Step 4: You can now use the IVR or the bank’s supplied number to make the payment.

You must input the IVR number and follow the instructions. Your payment will thereafter be finalized.

You can now download the UPI software on your feature phone in addition to your phone number.
