Manila, Reuters. Strong earthquake tremors have been felt in the Philippines. The US Geological Survey said a strong earthquake struck the island of Luzon on Wednesday. The magnitude of the earthquake was measured at 7.1 on the Richter scale. Geologists said that strong tremors were felt in many areas, including the capital Manila. However, there is no report of loss of life or property in these aftershocks.
It is being told that the epicenter of the earthquake was about 11 km east-south of the city of Dolores in Abra province. The tremors were felt for 30 seconds or more, news agency Reuters was quoted as saying. People came out of their homes after the tremors.

The transport ministry said strong tremors were also felt in Manila. The metro rail system came to a standstill after the earthquake. The Senate building in the capital has also been evacuated. It is feared that the earthquake may cause damage in Abra.
