Ration Card: Another setback of the government after discontinuing the free ration, now 20 thousand will not be available for this scheme

Ration Card Yojana: The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh has taken another big decision after the closure of the Free Ration Scheme being run for the poor. Now the grant of 20 thousand rupees received by the government for the marriage of poor daughters has been stopped. A recommendation has been received from the government level to discontinue this scheme. It is also preparing to remove it from the portal of the Social Welfare Department. However, the government’s mass marriage scheme will continue. Under this scheme, 51 thousand rupees are given by the government to the married couple.

In a letter sent by Special Secretary Rajnish Chandra to Social Welfare Director Rakesh Kumar, the order to remove the grant system from the website

was ordered to close the scheme. In this letter, he had directed to remove from the website the system of grants for the marriage of poor daughters of scheduled caste and general category. After this, the Director of the Social Welfare Department asked the Technical Director of the National Informatics Center (NIC) to remove it from the website on August 18.

The last application was made on August 26,
it is expected that the application of this scheme by the government will be closed soon through the portal. Let us tell you that in the current financial year under this scheme, the last application has been made on 26 August. A total of 776 applications have been made through this so far in the current financial year. Earlier, 15 crore people were also shocked by the free ration scheme closed by the government. There has also been a press release for this from each and every district supply officer in the state.

Rice will be available at Rs 3 per kg
After the closure of the free ration scheme by the UP government, cardholders will have to pay Rs 2 per kg for wheat and Rs 3 per kg for rice. There is a provision to implement this scheme from July. But ration distribution in UP is running late by two months. In such a situation, ration card holders will have to pay instead of taking ration from September.

15 crore people will be affected
tell you that this scheme was started by the UP government for the ration card holders coming under the National Food Security Act. Apart from the central government, the Yogi government started giving free rations to the poor during the Covid pandemic. Earlier the government extended it till March 2022. On his return to power in March, the scheme was again extended for three months. There are currently 3.59 crore ration card holders in UP, this will affect 15 crore people.
