India is moving toward electric vehicles, which include electric scooters. On the one hand, automakers are focusing on producing electric cars, but on the other, consumers are looking beyond petrol-diesel cars for alternatives to electric cars. People had very few options for EVs up until recently, but options are now starting to expand. Rapid product innovation is occurring in the two-wheeled electric vehicle market. Many electric vehicle manufacturers are currently participating in and showcasing their vehicles at the EV India Expo 2022.
Introduced is an electric scooter with a 130 km range.
At the EV India Expo 2022, Shema Electric unveiled three new high-speed electric scooters: the Eagle Plus, Gryphon, and Tuff Plus. Eagle Plus can travel at a top speed of 50 kmph. On a single full charge, it has a range of up to 120 km. It has a 3.2 kWh lithium-ion battery and a 1200-watt BLDC motor. The full charge might take 3.5 to 4 hours.
The Gryphon’s top speed is 60 kmph at the same time. On a single full charge, it has a 130 km range. A 1500 W BLDC motor and 4.1 kWh lithium-ion battery power it. In 3.5 to 4 hours, the battery can be fully charged. The top speed, range, and motor of the Tuff Plus are otherwise similar to those of the Gryphon.
There is a 4 kW LFP battery in Tuff Plus. It can finish charging its 4 kW LFP battery in 3.5 to 4 hours. Particularly, the costs of these three (Eagle Plus, Gryphon, and Tuff Plus) have not yet been made public. Only after their anticipated October launch will the prices be made public.
Odyssey debuts an electric bike and an electric scooter.
Two models from Odyssey Electric have been unveiled, with launch dates of January 2023 and March 2023, respectively. According to claims, the bike will have a range of more than 150 km and a top speed of 80 kmph. A touch-screen digital display, IOT, and real-time battery analysis are just a few of its many features. It may cost around one lakh rupees.
On the other hand, the business additionally unveiled a maxi electric scooter that falls under the premium line. The maxi scooter will have two batteries, each of which has a 200+ km range. There isn’t a lot of information available about it right now, but according to the company, it will be launched at a price that will make it difficult for other top scooters in India to stay competitive.
Competition
There are multiple two-wheeler electric vehicle producers on the market, including Hero, Okinawa, and Ola, who have established a following with their offerings. Any new electric vehicle manufacturers will face competition from firms like Hero, Okinawa, and Ola when they launch their products in such a market.
