UIDAI Aadhar Card Update: If you want to keep your Aadhar card safe then you can follow some steps. This allows you to lock your biometric information online. People may advise locking their Aadhaar data and biometrics online, according to the Unique Identification Authority of India UIDAI Aadhaar Card Updates. By temporarily unlocking the Aadhaar data, it can be kept safe from any misuse. No one will be able to abuse your Aadhar card as a result of this.

How to Lock

This is how you can lock your aadhar 

  • You have to first go to this link https://resident.uidai.gov.in/biometric-lock.
  • You can enter your Aadhar Number and Security Code (number from the image) on this link. Also, click on Send One Time Passcode (OTP).
  • You will get OTP in SMS on your registered mobile number. Enter OTP and click on login.
  • After providing the security code, select “Enable Biometric Locking.”
  • After that, you can decide whether you successfully enabled biometric locking on your Aadhaar number.
  • You will get your Aadhaar Biometric Lock details. You can temporarily unlock it if necessary.
Unlock Biometrics by following these steps 
  • You have two options for unlocking Aadhaar information: a temporary unlock and a permanent unlock.
  • You must adhere to the same steps outlined above.
  • Click “Unlock” if you want to momentarily unlock your biometric information.
  • If you want to permanently unlock your biometric details, you can uncheck the check box for ‘Lock’ and click on ‘Disable locking’.
  • You can lock and unlock your biometric data.
