Maruti Swift & Dzire Strong Hybrid: Maruti Suzuki has the highest market share in the entry-level hatchback segment. The automaker thinks that small cars will continue to play a significant role in the market despite the increase in demand for SUVs. The company has also launched the new-generation Celerio and Alto K10 this year. Maruti Suzuki will also unveil the new generation Swift hatchback and Dzire compact car in 2024. According to media reports, strong hybrid technology can be given in both these cars, which will help a lot in increasing the mileage.
If reports are to be believed, the 2024 Maruti Swift and DZire could get a new 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder petrol engine. Along with this, Toyota’s Strong Hybrid technology can be given, due to which the new Swift and Dzire will be able to give ARAI-certified mileage of 35-40 kmpl. If this happens, both these cars will become the most fuel-efficient cars in the country. The new Swift and DZire will now be in compliance with the impending CAFÉ II (Corporate Average Fuel Economy) standards.
Currently, the Maruti Swift and Dzire come with a 1.2-liter, 4-cylinder K12N Dualjet petrol engine, which generates 90bhp of peak power and 113Nm of maximum torque. It has an AMT gearbox and a 5-speed manual transmission. The manual variant returns a mileage of up to 23.30kmpl while the automatic variant returns a mileage of up to 21.12kmpl. Both the models also come in a CNG variant, which is more fuel efficient.
As far as the prices of the strong hybrid versions of the new 2024 Maruti Swift and Dzire are concerned, it will obviously be a price hike. It could be around Rs 1 lakh to Rs 1.50 lakh more expensive than the standard petrol version. Swift and Dzire have currently priced between Rs 5.92 lakh to Rs 8.85 lakh and Rs 6.24 lakh to Rs 9.18 lakh. These prices are ex-showroom.
