SBI Alert! These account holders have to submit an Aadhaar-PAN card, is your name somewhere?

State Bank of India ( SBI ) recently issued a notification to all its customers asking them to get KYC done again. For this, the bank had asked for a photocopy of the Aadhar card and PAN card through mail or post, and if it did not do so, the account was said to be suspended.

KYC was to be done by May 30

According to the notification, users were given time till May 30, which has now been completed. In such a situation, those who could not knowingly or unknowingly get their account KYC, will their accounts be suspended? Will they now have to submit the documents again? SBI has answered all these questions from its official Twitter handle. Let’s know.

What happens if the account is suspended?

Once the account is suspended, all the money deposited in your account will be frozen. The government subsidy that you are getting will stop coming. Apart from this, whatever government facility you are getting directly in the bank account, will not be available further. After the account is suspended, you will neither be able to withdraw nor deposit money from your account. This is the reason why people are now rushing to get KYC done or mailing them to the bank.

Documents to be submitted by all customers?

Tagging SBI, a customer asked on Twitter why the bank is doing KYC again? Will everyone have to submit documents again? Giving this question, SBI said that, ‘As per RBI rules, these documents are being asked for linking the account with the user’s Aadhaar and PAN card. If your Aadhar card and PAN are already linked with your bank account, then there is no need to submit the documents again. Those who have survived can still get their account KYC done.

How to know whether your Aadhaar is linked with the bank or not?

To link Aadhaar with the bank or any other place, first of all, you should check whether your Aadhaar card is linked with the bank or not. For this, first, go to the official website uidai.gov.in. After this, click on ‘Check Aadhaar/Bank Account Linking Status’ in the ‘My Aadhaar’ tab. After that enter your 12 digit Aadhaar number. Then enter the security code and click on ‘Send OTP’. After this, you will get an OTP on your registered number, through which login. Then you will know whether your bank account is linked with an Aadhar card or not.
