Covid Advance: Job is gone, still you will be able to withdraw PF money, know how to claim

You can withdraw money from your PF even if you have lost your job in the Covid-19 pandemic, or you have left. You can do this under the covid Advance facility of EPFO.

If you are a subscriber to the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) and have lost your job, or you have left due to the COVID-19 pandemic, you can still withdraw money from your provident fund. You can do this under the covid Advance facility of EPFO. The organization operating the retirement corpus has told that any PF subscriber can apply for covid Advance. There are only a few conditions for this. Let us tell you that in view of the problem of people in covid-19, EPFO ​​had given the facility of covid Advance Facility, under which people can withdraw some part of their deposits from their retirement fund during this crisis. Recently, the institution had extended this facility further.

Who can avail the facility of covid Advance Facility

If someone has lost his job during the time of covid or has left and is looking for a new job, then he can withdraw money from his PF account, provided he has not made the final withdrawal from his account. That is, if you have made a final withdrawal from your PF account, then you will no longer be a subscriber of EPFO, in this case, your provident fund will not be there. But if you do not have a job and your PF account is with EPFO, then you can take advantage of it.

KYC must be completed

Apart from this, another great thing is that your KYC must be completed to take advantage of this facility. You should first ensure that your UAN (Universal Account Number) is verified with your Aadhar card and your bank account details and mobile number etc. should also be linked to your UAN. If your KYC is not complete, then you will not be able to claim for advance.

how much money can you withdraw?

Under this facility, an EPFO ​​member can either withdraw an amount equal to three months of his basic salary and dearness allowance from his PF account, or 75% of the amount in his PF account, but Whichever of these two conditions is less, the same amount can be withdrawn.

How to claim to advance online

First of all, you have to go to this link of EPFO- https://unifiedportalmem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface.

After this, go to the ‘Online Services’ section and click on the option to claim Form-31,19,10C, and 10D.

Here you have to verify it by entering your bank account number.

After this click on ‘Proceed for Online Claim’ and click on PF Advance (Form 31) from the drop-down menu. 

Now you have to choose the purpose of withdrawing advance. Here you have to click on ‘Outbreak of pandemic (COVID-19)’.

After this, fill in the amount you want to withdraw and upload the scanned copy of the check with the address. 

After this, you have to click on ‘Get Aadhaar OTP’. You will get OTP on the Aadhaar linked mobile number. Verify it by entering OTP. After that submit your claim by clicking on ‘Submit’. When your claim is verified, a message will come on your registered mobile number.
