In fact, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has granted the possibility of updating your Aadhaar document online at no cost until the 14th of June. So, you don’t have to pay for the amount fixed for the previous version. The information was made available to UIDAI in a formal statement.
Needed To pay Rs 25 right now
Up to now, people needed to pay a fee of 25 rupees to update their IDs through the Aadhaar portal. As per the official announcement”The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has taken the decision to let people change their Aadhaar documents online at no cost. This move will benefit thousands of people. The service is free during the next 3 months i.e. between March 15 and June 14, 2023.
There is an additional cost of Rs 50.
In accordance with the Aadhaar enrollment and Update Regulations, 2016, Aadhaar number holders can change the supporting documentation at least every 10 years starting from the date they enroll for Aadhaar. The announcement stated that the service is available for access for free only through the Aadhaar portal. A cost of 50 rupees will be charged on physical Aadhaar centers like before.
