As corona cases rise, the federal and state governments have been informed. Prime Minister Narendra Modi conducted a review meeting that evening on March 22 in light of this. According to the PMO,
Prime Minister Modi demanded that all instances of Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI) be tested, laboratory surveillance be increased, and genome sequencing be hastened. According to PM Modi, this will make it easier to monitor the new variation and act quickly.

In addition, PM Modi underlined that those with other illnesses and senior citizens should use masks when in crowded areas. The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) reports that information was also provided at the meeting regarding the steps taken in response to Prime Minister Modi’s directives during the most recent review of Covid on December 22, 2022. He was told that the availability and price of 20 key drugs related to Covid, 12 additional medicines, eight buffer medicines, and one medicine for influenza are being monitored.
ICMR’s Rajeev Behl, NITI Aayog’s VK Paul, Home Minister Amit Shah, Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan, and others were present at the meeting.
