Tata Motors currently holds a market share of more than 80% in the electric car sector. Yet, currently, other automobile manufacturers are also boosting their presence in the electric car category. Currently, MG has one electric car in its portfolio in India – the ZS EV but now the company is going to launch a smaller electric car as well. MG Motor India is all set to launch the new Comet Electric Car MG Comet EV in April 2023.
Regarding MG Comet EV
It is a 2-door electric car, which will be the smallest car in the country. Its length will be only 2.9 meters. Much more compact than the Tata Nano. It is anticipated to be released for roughly Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom, India), making it one of the least expensive electric vehicles in the nation. The new MG Comet EV will be priced similarly to the Citroen EC3 and Tata Tiago EV.
Using the new Global Small Electric Vehicles (GSEV) platform,
MG Comet Electric will be developed. It has a boxy stance and is a small automobile. It has a similar appearance to the Indonesian Wuling Air EV. The front fascia’s center will include a charging port with the MG logo on it.
Only the Wooling Air EV’s battery pack option is available
for the MG Comet EV. Its entry-level form can theoretically offer a range of 200kms, it can feature a 17.3kWh battery pack. The high-end variant’s theoretical range can be around 300 km, and it can come with a 26.7 kWh battery pack. This vehicle is intended for city driving.
