Elon Musk, the CEO of the firm, tweeted that Twitter would be making some substantial modifications to its Direct Messaging (DM) feature, including the addition of encrypted DMs. Two new DM features have been introduced by Twitter: DM Reply and a new emoji selector for DMs.
What features are included?
Users can now reply to any message received in DMs using DM Reply, making conversations easier and more impromptu, according to information provided in a tweet from the company’s support account on Tuesday. In order to respond to messages with a greater variety of emojis than ever before, the business also implemented “a new emoji picker in DMs.”
In addition, Elon Musk stated that you may reply to any
post in a thread (not just the most recent) and use any emoji reaction using the most recent version of the app. He also promised that version 1.0 of encrypted DM will be released on Wednesday and that it would be improved quickly. The key factor is that even with a gun pointed at my head, I was unable to see your DM, he declared. Additionally, Musk disclosed that audio and video chats will soon be available on Twitter. Soon, voice and video chat with anyone on this platform from your handle would be available, he said, enabling you to communicate with individuals anywhere in the globe without having to share your phone number.
