The Simple One electric scooter from Simple Energy has finally been released in India, with prices starting at Rs. 1.45 lakh (ex-showroom). Despite being revealed on August 15, 2021, the scooter has since undergone several upgrades based on initial press feedback. The scooter’s pre-production prototype has been examined by Auto Today.

In 18 months, the company claims to have taken more

than one lakh reservations for the scooter. In the following phase, Simple Energy will concentrate on facilitating scooter delivery, beginning in Bengaluru. In the upcoming year, the company plans to increase its retail operations and grow its network to 160–180 locations spread over 40–50 cities.

Battery information for the Simple One electric scooterĀ 

The battery configuration for the electric scooter is distinctive, containing both a fixed battery and a removable battery. The battery pack has a total capacity of 5 kWh, and it can be fully charged using the portable charger in 5 hours and 54 minutes. According to Simple Energy, the scooter has a 212 km range that has been IDC certified, making it the longest-range electric scooter in India.

Simple Performance of one electric scooterĀ 

It has an 8.5kW (11.5bhp) peak output and 72Nm of torque from its 4.5kW (6.1bhp) electric motor. The scooter’s belt-driven powertrain, according to claims, can propel it to a top speed of 105 kmph in just 2.77 seconds from 0 to 40 kmph. Four riding modes are available: Eco, Ride, Dash, and Sonic. The company also advertises a 27-meter stopping distance from a speed of 60 kph.

Compared to rivals like the TVS iQube ST, Ola S1 Pro, and Ather 450X, the new Simple One has a decent amount of equipment. To mention a few features, it has 12-inch alloy wheels, front and rear disc brakes (200mm up front and 190mm down back), telescopic front, all-LED lighting, a 30-liter boot, parking assist, a 7-inch touch screen, and internet connectivity.
