For less than Rs 15 lakh, you have just three alternatives if you’re looking to buy SUVs with a diesel engine and an automatic gearbox. These are all Tata, Mahindra, and Kia subcompact SUVs.
Mahindra XUV300
Its diesel-automatic models range in price from Rs 12.31 lakh to Rs 14.76 lakh (ex-showroom). This 1.5-liter diesel engine produces 300Nm and 117PS. This diesel SUV’s automatic version is connected to a 6-speed AMT gearbox. Features of the XUV300 include cruise control, automatic air conditioning, a single-pane sunroof, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and more. It also boasts six airbags, ABS with EBD, and front and rear parking sensors for further safety.
Kia SonetÂ
The price range of its diesel-automatic models, ex-showroom, is between Rs 13.05 lakh and Rs 14.89 lakh. Additionally, it boasts a 1.5-liter diesel engine that produces 250 Nm and 116 PS. Its automated gearbox has six speeds. Six-speed iMT (manual gearbox without clutch pedal) is an additional option. Features include wireless phone charging, automatic air conditioning, ventilated front seats, an air purifier, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and a single-pane sunroof. Six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, and TPMS are also features.
Tata Nexon
Its diesel-automatic models range in price from Rs 14.30 lakh to Rs 15.50 lakh (ex-showroom). Its 1.5-liter diesel engine produces 115 horsepower and 260 Newton metres. A 6-speed AMT with a diesel engine is offered in its automated variations. The 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 10.25-inch complete digital driver display, wireless phone charging, air conditioning, height-adjustable front seats, cruise control, and auto air conditioning are some of the amenities of the Nexon diesel.
