The largest update to Netflix’s TV app in ten years is coming. In actuality, it will launch its TV app in a different format. The goal of these modifications is to make it simple for consumers to locate any film or television show. Additionally, Netflix hopes that more Netflix users will enjoy the new ad-supported membership options and that they will spend more time on the app overall.
According to Netflix’s study,
searching for material on the home screen takes up a lot of time for Netflix users, which the company refers to as an “eye exercise.” According to this research, users’ eyes are constantly shifting between the trending area, photos, trailers, and descriptions, as well as the list of various films and television shows.
What modifications to the design are planned?
Larger and more eye-catching thumbnails: Movie and television show visuals are now larger than before, which facilitates seeing and clicking.
Clearer information: The way that information is presented has improved. For instance, you can find out if a film or television show has appeared in the “Top 10 for 8 weeks” or not.
My tab on Netflix: There’s a new tab named “My Netflix” available. Only the television shows and films that you have either begun viewing or saved to your list will be displayed here.
Simple navigation: The menu is now at the top of the screen instead of on the left. This is where you can quickly access key features like ‘Home,’ ‘Shows,’ ‘Movies,’ and ‘My Netflix.’
When will people be able to view it?
Just a small portion of Netflix’s around 27 crore subscribers are now able to test out this new design. It is possible to make additional enhancements to this design in light of user feedback. It’s important to note that Netflix now wants to measure how much time customers spend on the app rather than just how many subscribers it has. They think this is a more accurate way to gauge client pleasure. They might cease providing regular subscription numbers in the upcoming year.
