Bank Holidays October 2021: Banks are going to be closed for 21 days in October, check the list of holidays

Bank Holidays in October: Some holidays/festivals falling in the month are related to a particular state or region. Hence bank holidays may vary from state to state.

Bank Holiday List: Banks are going to be closed for 21 days in October 2021. These include the holidays of the second and fourth Saturdays and Sundays. In the month of October, there are many occasions like Gandhi Jayanti, Valmiki Jayanti, Navratri, Dussehra, Eid-e-Milad, which will be a holiday in banks. Although banks will be closed for 21 days everywhere in the country in the month of October, it is not so. Some of the holidays/festivals falling in the month are related to a particular state or region. Hence bank holidays may vary from state to state.

Here is the complete list of holidays:

October 1 – Work will be affected due to half-annual bank closing account in Gangtok

October 2 – Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti (banks closed in all states)

October 3 – Sunday

October 6 – Mahalaya Amavasya- Banks closed in Agartala, Bengaluru, and Kolkata

October 7 – Mira Chaoren Houba of Liningthou Sanamhi – Imphal bank closed

October 9 – 2nd Saturday of the month

October 10 – Sunday

October 12 – Durga Puja (Maha Saptami) – Banks closed in Agartala, Kolkata

October 13 – Durga Puja (Maha Ashtami) – Banks closed in Agartala, Bhubaneshwar, Gangtok, Guwahati, Imphal, Kolkata, Patna, and Ranchi

October 14 – Durga Puja / Dussehra (Maha Navami) / Ayuth Puja – Banks closed in Agartala, Bengaluru, Chennai, Gangtok, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Patna, Ranchi, Shillong, and Thiruvananthapuram

October 15 – Durga Puja/Dussehra/Vijayadashmi – Banks closed in Imphal and Shimla 

October 16 – Durga Puja (Dashain) – Gangtok bank closed

October 17 – Sunday

October 18 – Kati Bihu – Guwahati

October 19 – Eid-e-Milad/Eid-e-Miladunnabi/Milad-e-Sharif/Barawafat- Ahmedabad, Belapur, Bhopal, Chennai, Dehradun, Hyderabad, Imphal, Jammu, Kanpur, Kochi, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Raipur Banks closed in Ranchi, Srinagar, and Thiruvananthapuram 

October 20 – Birthday of Maharishi Valmiki / Lakshmi Puja / Eid-e-Milad – Banks closed in Agartala, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Kolkata, and Shimla

October 22 -Friday after Eid-e-Milad-ul-Nabi – Banks closed in Jammu and Srinagar

October 23 – Fourth Saturday of the month

October 24 – Sunday

October 26 – Merger Day – Banks closed in Jammu and Srinagar

October 31 – Sunday
