LIC warns policyholders of potential losses despite bonus benefits

LIC Policy News: The business has made it clear that it never calls, texts, WhatsApps, or emails clients for information pertaining to their policies or banks. If someone or any organization does this in such a circumstance, it is fraud.

LIC: This information is for you if you have a LIC policy as well. Customers of the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) have recently been cautioned about falling victim to cyber frauds that request your policy number, bank account information, or KYC information in exchange for a bonus that has been claimed on your LIC policy.

The business has made it clear that LIC never requests policy or bank-related information from clients via email, WhatsApp, SMS, or phone calls. If someone or any organization does this in such a circumstance, it is fraud.

What has the business stated?

Consumers should not reply to any unsolicited calls, messages, or emails that purport to offer financial gain, according to a public notification released by LIC.

Customers have been warned by LIC not to provide their banking information, policy details, or any other personal information to an unidentified individual or group. In addition, LIC has provided its official WhatsApp number, 8976862090, so that users can verify any questionable activity.

How should you respond to a phony call or message?

Customers can notify LIC at spuriouscalls@licindia.com right once if they receive a phony call or message. In addition, the National Cybercrime Portal (https://cybercrime.gov.in/) is another place to file a complaint about online financial theft. You can also call the cybercrime helpline at 1930 for assistance.

Customers should always be on the lookout and always utilize the official website, according to LIC, to prevent such cyber crime.

LIC, to prevent such cyber crime

In addition to LIC, Shriram Life Insurance recently alerted its clients to a comparable cybercrime. The organization claims that scammers send phony mails purporting to be from LIC or another insurance provider, luring clients in with the promise of a policy bonus. They request personal information, including bank account data, for this. The scammers have the ability to take money from an account if a victim falls for their tricks and divulges his financial information.
