User Fee at Delhi Airport: The User Development Fee (UDF) that travelers must pay at Delhi Airport has changed. There will be additional costs for anyone traveling abroad.
Delhi Airport User Fee: GMR Airports’ Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), an aviation industry business, has been granted regulatory clearance to raise the Delhi Airport User Development Fee (UDF). Let us clarify that UDF is a cost that is collected from travelers and is utilized for airport growth and upkeep. The cost is included in the ticket itself.
Delhi airport is starting to improve.
Both domestic and foreign travelers can use UDF. In order to improve the airport’s amenities and give travelers a better experience, airlines collect it from travelers along with their tickets and give it to the airport operator.
The Airports Economic Regulatory Authority of India (AERA) has authorized the variable pricing plan for Delhi Airport, according to GMR, which explains the hike in UDF. In addition, the aviation tariff will be raised. The new order will go into effect on April 16.
UDF rates on domestic flights remain unchanged.
Eighty percent of all passengers at Delhi Airport are domestic, according to AERA. In light of this, the UDF for domestic passengers has been maintained at Rs 129 for the fourth control period, which runs through March 31, 2029. Domestic travelers are charged Rs 129 UDF upon departing from Delhi Airport and Rs 56 upon arrival.
The cost of international flights will increase.
Those who travel abroad will now be required to pay a higher user charge than they did previously. The cost will depend on the class of travel. For instance, passengers in economy class will now be required to pay a user fee of Rs 275 upon arrival and Rs 650 upon departure.
Business-class passengers would also be required to pay Rs 345 upon arrival and Rs 810 as UDF at the time of departure. In addition, the landing fee at the Delhi airport has been modified. The fees will now be assessed based on the aircraft’s size.
Let’s remind you that AERA only authorized a 140 percent price rise, despite Delhi International Airport Limited’s (DIAL) previous proposal to raise costs by 730 percent.
