Customers can now upgrade to a 4G or 5G SIM card for free as BSNL expands its services in India. Consumers can upgrade their SIM card by going to the BSNL CSC or by completing e-KYC online. Customers may now receive their BSNL 4G/5G SIM card at home thanks to doorstep delivery.
Recently, BSNL introduced Q-5G (Quantum 5G), its 5G services in India. Subscribers can now update their 4G or 5G SIM cards for free from the government telecom provider. Currently available in a few Indian circles, high-speed internet is accessible to current BSNL 2G/3G SIM card users by visiting a BSNL CSC or approved merchant. The telecom provider also provides doorstep delivery in addition to simple e-KYC.

- We will provide you with a detailed guide here if you wish to upgrade to BSNL’s 4G/5G SIM card. Let’s learn the process:
- Use the BSNL website or customer care helpline to find the closest BSNL CSC or approved shop.
- Inform the customer support agent that you wish to switch to a BSNL 4G or 5G SIM card, then do as instructed.

However, the increasing demand and cheap plans, along with the lack of BSNL-authorized retailers, have made physical office visits difficult, and you may also have to wait in long queues. But there is a solution for this too. An online one.

Customers may now receive new connections or port existing lines to BSNL without leaving their homes or using third-party platforms like Prune thanks to the state-run telecom provider’s recent introduction of doorstep delivery of 4G/5G SIM cards.
Prior to SIM card distribution, customers can complete self-KYC (Know Your Customer) authentication and select between prepaid and postpaid SIM connection choices. Here’s how:
- Use this link to access the new BSNL portal.
- Complete the e-KYC client registration form. Choose between a postpaid or prepaid connection.
- Enter information such as the applicant’s name, alternate mobile number, and pin code.
- To validate your mobile number, enter your One-Time Password (OTP).
- After completing the remaining fields, your BSNL 4G/5G SIM card will be sent to your home.
Customers who have any questions or concerns should call the BSNL helpdesk at 1800-180-1503. It is unclear, though, if there would be a fee for the BSNL 4G/5G SIM card home delivery service. In India, free doorstep delivery has long been provided by other private companies including Airtel, Jio, and Vodafone Idea (Vi).
