Apple Supply Chain India: Tata To Madrasan Listed

In recent years, India has seen a sharp increase in iPhone manufacture. Additionally, Apple plans to manufacture its first foldable iPhone in India. Apple’s supply chain includes a number of Indian businesses.

Over the past few years, the American electronics giant Apple has significantly increased the size of its production facilities in India. Consequently, one out of every five iPhones is currently produced in India. Additionally, India is the manufacturing location for all iPhone 17 models. For the first time, a whole line of models is being produced in India. Media sources state that some 45 Indian businesses, ranging from regional component producers to those in charge of the subassembly ecosystem, are a part of Apple’s supply chain.

Including both small and large businesses

Apple employs a variety of businesses in India, from startups to multinational corporations. Though the remainder of the component and subassembly ecosystem is dispersed throughout Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, and Gujarat, the iPhone is now produced in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. Aequs, Madrasan, Jabil, ATL, Microplastics, Bharat Forge, Wipro PARI, Hindalco, Avery, SFO Technologies, VVDN, Titan Engineering and Automation Limited, and Tata Electronics are among the companies that are part of Apple’s supply chain. Notably, Apple started manufacturing iPhones in India in 2020.

India will produce the first foldable iPhone.

In 2026, Apple plans to release the first foldable iPhone. India will also be the location of its mass production. Recent sources state that Apple is discussing this with its vendors. Taiwan will be used for test production, and India has been chosen by the corporation for full production. Notably, during the fiscal year 2024–2025, Apple’s Indian vendors produced $14 billion worth of iPhones. The biggest Indian supplier to Apple is Foxconn.
