Audi’s petrol-diesel automobiles will no longer be available for purchase after 2033, according to the manufacturer.

Audi India CEO Balbir Singh Dhillon stated that the business plans to be a totally electric vehicle producer by 2033, but that this may take longer in India. Audi, a German luxury automobile manufacturer, is looking into the possibility of producing electric vehicles in India. This information was provided by a corporate senior official.

Audi has decided to become the world’s first all-electric car company in 2033. Local production of its electric vehicles, on the other hand, will take time. So far, India has been fairly supportive of the enterprise. Audi India recently unveiled its new Q7 facelift SUV, which will be phased out of the market in April 2020 due to the implementation of BS6 fuel standards. The new SUV model has a starting price of Rs 80 lakh ex-showroom.

By 2033, the corporation will be completely electric.

Mercedes-Benz, the company’s main competitor, has stated that starting this year, it will build its fully electric Equus sedan in India. “We are assessing the acceptance of electric vehicles in India,” Balbir Singh Dhillon, Head, Audi India, stated in response. “You must understand that we have already decided as Audi India or Audi AG that by 2033, we would be a totally electric car company,” Dhillon continued. It’ll happen in due time.”

Audi’s five electric vehicles are available in India.

Audi India, he said, has released five electric cars in India in the previous seven months and will continue to sell them in the coming year. In India, Audi offers thee-Tron 50, e-Tron 55, e-Tron Sportback 55, e-Tron GT, and RS e-Tron GT. He stated that we are evaluating the possibility of convening at the municipal level. “We need to come up with a numerical figure.” Only then will we be able to begin locally producing automobiles.
