Covid-19 fourth wave: India has recorded 2,202 new infections and 27 deaths in the last 24 hours.

The death toll has risen to 5,24,241 with 27 more fatalities, according to figures updated at 8 a.m. According to the ministry, active cases accounted for 0.04 percent of total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate was 98.74 percent.

With 2,202 new coronavirus infections reported in a single day, India’s COVID-19 case count increased to 4,31,23,801 while active cases decreased to 17,317, according to Union Health Ministry figures released on Monday.

In the past 24 hours, the active COVID-19 caseload has decreased by 375 cases. According to the health ministry, the daily positive rate was 0.74 percent, and the weekly positivity rate was 0.59 percent.

The number of persons who have recovered from the sickness has risen to 4,25,82,243, with a 1.22 percent case fatality rate. The total number of doses provided in the country under the statewide COVID-19 vaccination effort has surpassed 191.37 crores.

On August 7, 2020, India’s COVID-19 total exceeded 20 lakh, 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5, and 50 lakh on September 16. On September 28, it hit 60 lakh, then 70 lakh on October 11, then 80 lakh on October 29, 90 lakh on November 20, and one crore on December 19.

On May 4 of last year, the country surpassed the two-crore milestone, and on June 23, it surpassed the three-crore level.
