ICC has given the hosting of the 2025 Champions Trophy to Pakistan. All the teams were in a state of confusion about going to Pakistan, but everything seems to be clear from the statement of the ICC President.
The ICC has given the hosting of the 2025 Champions Trophy tournament to Pakistan. Champions Trophy is a big tournament. Pakistan defeated India in the 2017 Champions Trophy final. Now in order to save the same title, ICC has given hosting of this tournament to Pakistan. Not many teams have visited Pakistan since the terror attack.
Pakistan got hosting
The ICC last week gave Pakistan the right to host the 2025 Champions Trophy. This will mark the return of the big tournament in Pakistan after more than two decades. The last time Pakistan hosted an ICC tournament on its soil was in the form of the 1996 World Cup. India and Sri Lanka were also co-hosts in that World Cup. Since the terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan team bus in Lahore in 2009, no major country has played a bilateral series in Pakistan.
ICC President expressed hope
ICC President Greg Barkley said, ‘The ICC cricket event is returning to Pakistan after many years. All this has proceeded without any issue except what happened in the last few weeks. Barkley further said, ‘If we had doubts about hosting Pakistan, we would not have given it the right to organize this event’. In September this year, New Zealand and England withdrew from the bilateral series to be played in Pakistan due to security concerns.

Minister Anurag Thakur gave this answer
Sports Minister Anurag Thakur said last week that a decision on India’s participation in the Champions Trophy would be taken in due course as there are still security issues for international teams to tour the neighboring country. Barkley expects it to be a challenging issue. Expressed that the relationship between the two countries can be improved through cricket.
India has not toured Pakistan since 2005-06
The Indian team has not toured Pakistan since 2006. Pakistan came to India in 2012 and played the T20 series. Now if the Indian team will go to Pakistan to play the Champions Trophy, then it will be a big opportunity, it is clear from the statement of the ICC President that all the teams will go to Pakistan and play the tournament.
