Bill passed by parliament

After the Lok Sabha, the bill related to the withdrawal of three agricultural laws was passed without discussion in the Rajya Sabha on Monday. The opposition continued to demand discussion on this bill in the House, but it was approved by the Upper House amid the uproar. Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar introduced the Agricultural Laws Repeal Bill 2021 in the House and during this, the opposition members started a ruckus.

Agriculture Minister Tomar accused Congress of taking a double stand and said that the opposition party had promised agricultural reforms in its manifesto. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi showed a big heart by announcing the withdrawal of all three agricultural laws on Guru Nanak Jayanti and this shows the uniformity in his words and deeds.

He said that both the government and the opposition parties want the return of these laws, so there is no need for any discussion on the agriculture law repeal bill.
