Tata Motors is soon going to bring a CNG variant of the Tiago hatchback in the market, the bookings for which have started at the dealership level. Apart from this, the company will also launch the CNG variant of Tigor.
After releasing the teaser of the CNG variant of its cheapest car Tiago hatchback, Tata Motors has now started booking it at the dealership level. Due to the pandemic and the shortage of semiconductor chip, Tata has got some delays in this car, but if sources are to be believed, now the company is going to launch its two affordable cars Tata Tiago and Tata Tigor’s CNG variants in the market in January 2022. Tata is going to present strong competition in this segment with both these CNG variants. Both these affordable cars are very much liked in India and their CNG variants are going to prove to be more affordable for the customers.
You can book the car now
It is estimated that the company will start the official booking of these cars a few days before the launch in January, although you can book this car from now on Tata dealership. These two CNG cars of Tata Motors have been seen many times during the testing and to make them stand out from the normal model, the company can bring CNG variants of Tiago and Tigor into the market with some changes in styling. It is not yet clear which variant of these two cars will be launched with the CNG kit.

Tough competition for Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai
With Tiago CNG and Tigor CNG, the company is going to give tough competition to Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai in this segment. Currently, Maruti has the largest CNG range in the market which starts from Alto CNG and goes up to Ertiga CNG. Hyundai has launched in the market from Centro CNG to Hyundai Aura CNG. In such a situation, Tiago and Tigor are going to increase the heat as soon as they come into the CNG market.
Government promoting CNG vehicles
The biggest reason for all these companies to introduce CNG variants is the skyrocketing price of petrol and diesel in the country and this is the reason why customers are now showing great interest in getting factory-fitted CNG cars. The Government of India is also promoting CNG vehicles because they are not only economical, but their use will also reduce the import of fuel.
