These Amazing CNG cars of TATA will be launched on January 19, Know More about these Cars!

TATA Motors will launch CNG variants of two of its popular affordable cars – Tiago and Tigor on January 19, whose bookings are on at the dealership level.

Tata Motors is going to launch CNG variants of its two popular cars Tata Tiago and Tata Tigor on January 19. Recently, the Tigor CNG was seen parked at the dealership yard without any stickers. Post-launch, the Tata Tigor will be the only compact sedan that will be available in all three models – normal engine, CNG, and electric. If dealership sources are to be believed, the Tigor CNG will be offered in 3 variants, although the design of the car in the photo seems to be the same as the current model. This is the lower variant of the car which has been given 15-inch alloy wheels and an i-CNG badge. The CNG models of Tata Tiago and Tata Tigor are now going to be worth more money. The bookings for both these cars have also been started unofficially and both the CNG models can be booked with a price of Rs 5,000 and Rs 11,000 depending on the city and dealership.

1.2-litre three-cylinder Revetron petrol engine

Along with the existing Tiago and Tigor, the company has given a 1.2-litre three-cylinder Revetron petrol engine that makes 86 horsepower and 113 Nm of peak torque. The CNG variants of both cars may also come with the same capability or may see a slight drop. The company has given manual and AMT gearbox options to both cars, although only manual transmission can be found with the CNG variant.

Tough competition for Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai

With Tiago CNG and Tigor CNG, the company is going to give tough competition to Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai in this segment. Currently, Maruti has the largest CNG range in the market which starts with Alto CNG and goes up to Ertiga CNG. Hyundai has launched in the market from Centro CNG to Hyundai Aura CNG. In such a situation, Tiago and Tigor are going to increase the heat as soon as they come into the CNG market. Tata is going to present strong competition in this segment with both these CNG variants.

Government promoting CNG vehicles

The biggest reason for all these companies to introduce CNG variants is the skyrocketing price of petrol and diesel in the country and this is the reason why customers are now showing great interest in getting factory-fitted CNG cars. The Government of India is also promoting CNG vehicles because they are not only economical, but their use will also reduce the import of fuel. Both these affordable cars are very much liked in India and their CNG variants are going to prove to be more affordable for the customers.
