Decision was taken keeping in mind the security

UIDAI said that this decision has been taken keeping in mind the safety of the customers. Actually, the Aadhaar PVC card made from the open market lacks security features. UIDAI said that any customer can order on the portal by paying Rs 50 to get the plastic card made. In this case, there may be security lapses.

Issue Aadhaar from UIDAI website

It is worth noting that many times customers apply for Aadhaar from the UIDAI website, then after the Aadhaar card is ready, a PDF copy of it is saved on the phone or computer. People get this copy lamination from the market and get PVC cards made for just a few rupees.

UIDAI has warned that shopkeepers make plastic Aadhaar cards but there is no security feature in it. That is, in such a situation, the security of your Aadhaar number can be tampered with. To avoid this, UIDAI should make a smart card only from the official website.
