Sawan 2025: Shivling worship becomes much more significant in Sawan. On Shivling, devotees present the items that God loves. You need to be aware of what should be presented on Shivling first.
On July 11, 2025, Sawan Month will begin. The significance of conducting Jalabhishek and Rudrabhishek on Shivling is greatly increased during the month of Sawan. Additionally, presenting God’s favorite items on Shivling is auspicious.
On Shivling, a variety of items are typically offered, including water, Bel leaves, milk, curd, bhang-dhatura, flowers, fruits, etc. However, the devotion of Lord Shiva is seen lacking in the absence of water and Bel leaves.
Mahadev is pleased when you provide Shivlinga with just pure water and Bel leaves on Sawan day or on other occasions. However, it’s also critical to understand whether water or Bel leaves should be offered to Shivlinga initially.
According to astrologer Anish Vyas, it is customary to offer water first during Shivling worship. On Shivling, you can offer water from sacred rivers like the Ganga and Yamuna. For this reason, it is stated that Bhole-Bhandari is pleased even if a pot of pure water is provided with sincerity.
Belpatra should only be offered after Shivling has been given water. You can then present additional worship items, such as milk, flowers, fruits, etc.
On Shivling, you can offer three, five, seven, nine, eleven, or more Belpatras. Chant the mantra Om Namah Shivaya while making Belpatra.
Remember that the Belpatra should not be cracked, damaged, or have holes in it when you gift it to Shivling. Additionally, keep your face to the east when you worship.
