Yamaha R15M World GP: New motorcycle with bold look and hi-tech features

Yamaha India has launched the new R15M World GP 60th Anniversary Edition bike, which is priced at Rs 1.88 lakh. The company says that the Speed ​​Block color scheme is inspired by the YZF-M1 race bike which includes golden wheels and golden touring forks with white and red colors.

New Delhi: India Yamaha Motor has also launched the new R15M World GP 60th Anniversary Edition along with the 2022 MT-15 version 2.0 in the Indian market. The ex-showroom price of this motorcycle in Delhi has been kept at Rs 1.88 lakh. The Anniversary Edition has been given a facelift to commemorate the Premier Series motorcycle road racing that has been running since 1961. The company says that the speed block color scheme is inspired by the YZR-M1 race bike which includes golden wheels and golden. Touring forks with white and red colors. In memory of this race bike series, special badging has been given on the fuel tank of the new bike.

Bike reminiscent of racing
Aishin Chihana, Chairman, Yamaha India Group of Companies, said at the launch, “With the YZF-R15M, the 60th anniversary livery of the WGP is reminiscent of the racing legacy that Yamaha has won over 500 World Grands since 1961. It also serves as a reminder of the earlier milestones. It symbolizes our racing passion, our belief in sporting power, and also our commitment.”

What’s in the new bike?
Apart from the cosmetic changes, the bike is powered by a 155 cc, 4-stroke, fuel-injected, liquid-cooled, SOHC engine that makes 18.1 bhp power and 14.2 Nm peak torque. The company has equipped this bike with a 6-speed gearbox. Features like traction control, quick shifter, upside-down forks, Bluetooth connectivity, and dual-channel ABS have been provided in the new bike. The R15M World GP 60th Anniversary Edition is the most expensive variant of the R15M range. The standard model of the bike costs Rs 1.86 lakh ex-showroom Delhi, while the Monster Energy MotoGP Edition costs Rs 1.83 lakh.
