IPL 2022: Axar Patel becomes 9th spinner in the IPL to take 100 wickets

Delhi Capitals’ if-spinner Axar Patel achieved this feat during the match played against Punjab Kings yesterday.

Delhi Capitals spinner Axar Patel has become the ninth player to take more than 100 wickets in the Indian Premier League. Akshar achieved the feat during his clash against Punjab Kings at the Dr. DY Patil Stadium here on Monday, where he got his 100th wicket by dismissing Mayank Agarwal.

Apart from this, he also became the fourth player to score over 1000 runs and claim more than 100 wickets, joining the club of Ravindra Jadeja, Dwayne Bravo, and Sunil Narine.

In Monday’s match, DC boosted their playoff hopes on Monday as they beat PBKS by 17 runs in their IPL 2022 match. Chasing a target of 160 runs, Delhi bowlers stopped Punjab.

Earlier, Mitchell Marsh’s blistering 63 helped Delhi Capitals to a modest 159/7. Punjab Kings’ Arshdeep Singh and Liam Livingstone each took three wickets.

With this win, the Pant-led DC have now moved up to the fourth spot in the IPL 2022 table with 14 points against their name. 5th-ranked Royal Challengers Bangalore also have 14 points but their negative net run rate has cost them dearly.
